The students on the academic team participate in competitions with other JROTC programs from around the world. The team competes in the fall and spring of the academic year by demonstrating their knowledge on topics such as current events, SAT/ACT preparation, basic leader education training from the JROTC curriculum, and college entrace requirements and scholarship opportunities. Last year the academic team made it to the second round of competition by outscoring over 500 other high school teams. This year, the freshman team came in first place, and the advanced team came in second place in the final round.
